Blimey it’s been a while. I apporrogize profusely and will commit ritualistic seppuku for not updating. I’m in the process of contemplating redesigning the site, but we’ll see how that goes.
In the mean time, now that I have a spifferoni iPhone (thanks Adam, moms, pops), I’ve decided to start a photoblog of sorts. Check out the navigation along the top for the new photos section. I may change the setup later, but at the moment I can simply snap a photo with my phone, e-mail it to a super special address and it will automatically show up in the Picasa slideshow. I’ll do at least one a day.
At the moment new photos won’t show up on the front page, so just click through and check it out from time to time! Currently you can see what I had for lunch today, some of the fabulous fashion at the “health” clinic here in Westmonster, and that rascally cat Pumba running away after eying the family of rats we have.

I’d like to take this time to welcome the newest edition to the Belida-Gruber apartment: Pumba (named so for reasons I’d rather not mention). She’s a humungo lap-cat, notorious for spending an hour or two on my lap while I pump zeds full of led in Left 4 Dead.
Which by the way is pretty fantastic.
An absolutely fantastic video of a small group of traceurs in Tokyo, Japan. Shot, edited and directed by the very talented Kaspar Astrup Schröder this has quickly become one of my most favourite parkour videos yet.
Enjoy.

If there’s one image worthy of v-scroll breakingness; this be it. Yes, I did indeed get married to one Kelly Gruber this past Saturday. We had gorgeous weather, great company, and things went smooth as butter.
Huge thanks to Emmie Woody who did the photography during it all.

In addition to more photos when I get them, I’ll also fill you folks in on how I spent my first day of married life searching a golf course in West Virginia for my wedding ring.
What ever happened to the mixtape? In this day and age of 80 gigabyte choose-your-own audventure devices, and 3 megabyte, 4 minute, 99 cent songs for purchase; the idea of the 60 minute compilation tape has gotten lost.
Enter Kitsune Noir and his mixtapes. As of this post he has 6 mixtapes (ok, mix mp3s) varying from 30 – 60 minutes. They are all delicious medley’s of their own specific themes- some eclectic, some summer-ific, some based on the deep blue sea.
I Was Dreaming of Just You might be my favourite mix of the bunch, but they’re all worth a listen all the way through.
So toss the file onto your Zune, iPod or 3G iPhone. Burn the track to a CD. Or hook up some cables to your Fisher Price Casette deck and turn it into an actual mix tape. Do whatever works best for you, slam it into your car’s sound system, and go for a cruise through the country.

Ratatat “Falcon Jab”
I was going to wait until I had some more footage together but decided not to. I tossed in some old stuff from when I worked at ACRO Gymnastics to fill some space.
Otherwise it’s all freshly filmed this month! Tried to find some undiscovered spots in Westminster, as well as making new use of old ones.
Well I’m off to Dewey Beach, Delaware for a week! The above is a little photo teaser of some parkour footage I’ve been putting together in August so far. Should get the actual video up shortly after I return!
w00t le fuque!
Adam, my brother for those of you unfamiliar, just started capturing / editing / uploading a whole bunch of video from our 7 years in Africa. My bungee jump at Victoria Falls in Zambia had the honor of being the first to go up.
Come for the bungee jump, stay for my 1997 hair!
El Oso is by far one of my favourite albums of all time. Enjoy the goodness of “Circles” and be certain to pick up the full album, again if you already own it, then go immerse yourself in Mike Doughty’s solo career as well.
The man is a force of nature.

Yeah, I’ll be there. More than likely with Rouse.
Firefox is totally badical.
If you don’t already have it, and are unfortunate enough to be using Internet Explorer, then the release of Firefox 3 would be the ideal time to REDISCOVER THE INTERNET.
I figure it’s about time to push that rather morbid photo a bit further down the page.
This spot reserved for content to be added tomorrow.
Well that was the single most terrifying experience of my entire life.
Was just in Miami with Leon, Billy, Frosti, Levi and Mark for the 4th leg of the K-SWISS Freerunning Tour.
First off, a huge thanks to all of the Miami Parkour folks. They welcomed us with open arms, shuttled us around, shared with us some of their frequented training spots, and were basically some of the greatest hosts we could have asked for. Super mega good hospitality even.
[edit] Oh god it’s 2:14, I should go to bed. Will finish the update tomorrow! Plenty of antics to go on about.
Being played by Ray Park (Darth Maul). The bad news? Channing Tatum (Step Up) plays all-American team leader Duke.
Ouch, my childhood.
I spent the last five days in Las Vegas with Sam, Billy, Mark, Ryan, Tyson, and Tony choreographing a rather large performance for a pharmaceutical company.
We return triumphant! I feel in high spirits and slightly exhausted, . I also feel the wallet-sized bruise on my thigh.
We absolutely slammed the performance. (The bruise was from a different kind of slam during one of many practice runs, but I digress.) We went out with maximum energy that exponentially multiplied when the moxie from a 2000+ crowd was before us. There were three two-minute sections, each of which left us all smiling and high-fiving as we tried to catch our breath.
Fact : Between coming up with the sections, practicing them over and over and over, and the actual performance- each one of us must have gone through at least our respective body weights in bottled water over the five days.
I might write more up later. My mind is kind of a jumbled mess right now, but that could just be the Epsom salts.
Apparently, if you come out of a 25 minute bath with half-a-pound of Epsom salts and the water as hot as you can handle, you’ll seem others like you’ve just smoked two joints.
Some general tomfoolery and training this past Sunday with Sam! Fight choreography video to come soon.
Also feel free to help yourself to a high quality version download.
Last week that the gym was open, I decided I should add to my repertoire some and put some serious time and repetition into learning le flips.
These were quite literally the first back tucks I’ve ever done.
Also, this be the first thing I’ve filmed with the rockin’ new fish eye lens I got for Christmas.
I had no idea the video was already out and up. While in Chicago one of the things we were filming was a music video for hip-hop musician and fellow traceur Moses, aka. Kid Static. (sorry about the MySpacing)
Shot and cut by the ever-talented Mike Yamrus. Criminy that was a hella fun weekend.
That’s me that kicks in the bass line.
First off some news on the sad side of things; ACRO Gymnastics is closing.
For the last 6 months, ACRO is where I had been teaching some parkour classes to a few excellent students, as well as helping out with the boys gymnastics classes. Great fun, great co-workers, great students, and an absolutely radnormous experience overall. I’m definitely going to miss the place.
I’m on the lookout for another venue to teach at so I don’t leave the 3 parkour students I had hanging out to dry. Worse comes to worse, at least once the weather improves and the days are longer, I can meet up with them and train outside. Hopefully they’ll all stick with it regardless!
On to some better news; Primal-Fitness was featured on Fox5 Morning News this past Wednesday. I took the day off, drove down and spent the night at Jesse’s place, and we headed over to Primal for the early morning live report. There were two main 4-minute segments interspersed between short teasers.
I’m wearing this fine Threadless T-Shirt in the video:
The piece went quite well, and it was a blast being down there with all but one of the VA-Parkour Band of Merry Men. If all goes according to plan, I’ll be able to be down there more often. And that will rock.
